Veronica Ngô Thanh Vân (also known as NTV) is a Vietnamese actress, singer and model. I checked out a lot of forums and many people say she is not a good singer, even though that is where she has had her most success, but I think she is getting very popular as an actress. Some websites list her as 5’8, but I find that hard to believe. I saw one instance of 5’1, and two of 5’8, so I will put “?” for now and edit it later if I can find a more reputable source.Stats:

  5. My girlfriend bought her CD yesterday, she is indeed a bad singer. Very plain voice. I don’t think she is a very good actress either, but she is cute.

    Being a long-time lurker and first-time poster, I’d like to offer a counterpoint.

    I’m Vietnamese-American, and I don’t like Veronica’s look. Maybe it’s because I was born in the States, but I actually prefer a little Western influence to knock those hard edges off (for lack of a better phrase). However, I agree that the import-model look is not all that desirable in this day and age.

    In my opinion, there are way too many wannabe singers in Viet Nam with overdramatized presence on stage, annoyingly shouty voices, and little artistic ability. That applies equally to both males and females, but I can’t speak personally of Veronica. Oh, and braided hair seems to be a (small?) fad there that I don’t particularly care for.

    So, in short, I find Veronica pretty average for a Vietnamese and not at all cute. I think I’ll send AS some suggestions in the future. 🙂

  18. I’m usually not traditionally a fan of Viet ladies, but Veronica is certainly an exception to the rule! Very cute!

    However, I’d like to see her in some pics that are less “produced”. Images that catch her in real life – just to see if she holds up to what I’m seeing here.

Cougar1, I have found that there are a lot of “wannabe singers” in tonal languages, because they cannot meet the range of most non-tonal language singers without changing the meaning of the words they are singing. It’s why Jackie Chan can be a “singer.” It’s too bad, because some Chinese and Vietnamese singers have fantastic voices, but they do not often get a chance to show it off.

    i don’t like her features… can look attractive depending on lighting & angles…
    ok… dr. lee, lawnboy please google huynh thanh tuyen… now… she’s VIET… a bomb.. she’s was in VN this year supermodel contest but came out #2 loosing to the ugly one… anyway, she was in the Miss Bikini International & was leading the online voting poll but the contest was canceled due to H1N1 swine flu in China… below is the link… not sure if it works… since i can’t appear to bring justice to Viet fairy, be my heros you two… bring beauty, justice & world peace for us all :)))

    While I normally wouldn’t allow model requests in another model’s thread, as it is related to the feature model, I think it is okay in this case. Huỳnh Thanh Tuyền is actually a little too western looking for my taste, although she does look nice in a bikini. Can you identify this hot Viet bikini model?

  23. ok… i like thanh tuyen’s features & beauty… she does not look “western” to me… i like her face shape, symmetry, bone structure… her looks are Viet from the south… NOOOOOOOOO… this creature is NOT hot… i don’t know who she is… but i think she might be one of the beauty contestants… yep… i saw the thien ly’s article… her beauty to me is “light”, sweet, cutesy… which i don’t like… i like her smile with “rang khen” (the crooked tooth” charming… i prefer the aristocratic, exquisite features, beauty…
    hm… you should check out Miss Viet Nam Universe 2009… she won last year’s super model contest… great catwalks… interesting features… i don’t necessarily like her features, face shape… but she looks fierce… hope she does well… my all-time favorite is Mai Phuong Thuy… i find her beauty compelling..

    Who is this mystery model? I feel so sorry for her! She needs a few big macs stat! Those bony shoulders kill any sexual or aesthetic thoughts about her appearance. She looks like she is starving to me and needs to be fed healthy food for a week or so before she’d be up for any sex.

    Why exactly was Flashpoint banned? I don’t see from his above post anything that was wrong. Judith Hill? Whoever that is, so what? Right above that Hakka Guy said Veronica reminds him of Michelle Yeoh, that’s a comparison too. What gives?

  25. She’s not short–NTV is about 5’7 or 5’8. Never heard her referred to as “Veronica” until now.

  27. There’s different kinds of comparisons Halloweendm – relevant (as in similar looks, same nationality etc.) and irrelevant flamebait (this girl is hotter than that girl etc.). And flashpoint posted Judith Hill three times in totally unrelated model threads after I specifically told him not too, and he has committed other infractions in the past. He just ran out of warnings.
