Korean Baseball Cheerleaders

Kang Ye-jin

Unlike professional baseball teams in the US, all of the teams in the Korea Baseball Organization have professional cheerleaders stirring up the fans on both sides of the park during games. Above is the captain of the LG Twins squad, Kang Ye-jin, who's currently the best-known baseball cheerleader in Korea and is expected to branch out to other avenues of show biz.

Oh, and despite what Ye-jin's banner reads, her team didn't even make the playoffs last year and are currently in 6th place out of only 8 teams in the KBO, which means at every Twins's game she has her work cut out for her. More...

Asian Cheerleaders of the NFL

Duyen - Houston Texans

The National Football League Kickoff game next month will mark the beginning of the 2010 NFL season, so after checking some of the teams' player rosters for this upcoming season, I decided to check all of the the teams' cheerleader rosters.

Of the 25 NFL teams that have official cheerleading squads (7 teams don't), I did find several Asian ladies among the members, one being Duyen (above), who proudy high kicks and shakes her pom poms for the Houston Texans. More...

Pretty Pitchers

April 4th was opening day for the 2010 Major League Baseball season and if you've ever been to a ball game in Japan or Korea, where a well-known person has opened the game with a cermonial first pitch, I'm sure you appreciated it if the well-known person was an attractive female celebrity, which it usually is.

While the Korea Baseball Organization almost always has mainstream actresses and singers doing the honors, the Nippon Professional Baseball league often has less conservatively-dressed gravure idols and models take the mound, such as Satoko Miyata (above) who impressively, did get it across the plate from the pitcher's rubber at the Tokyo Dome last summer. Dr. Lee's Talking Point: Porn, Hits and Hypocrisy

2010/04/14 UPDATE: I've decided to remove the links from this post, as these people have had more than enough traffic from us already, and they never linked to us so people could read the other side of the story anyway.

It is with some trepidation that I write this post, as I suspect it is exactly what the people who inspired this article want me to do. But I thought this episode raised a few interesting issues that would make for good discussion as a "Dr. Lee's Talking Point" article, so I've decided to post it anyway.

Recently (as I'm sure some of you will remember), CEC featured Winnipeg blogger/vlogger and import model Keo Necra. As per his usual approach, he sent her a friendly message to let her know that her article had been posted. She responded that she wasn't happy with being featured on a "pornographic site", and asked us to post her response to the article in the comments, which we did. Then, when she wasn't happy with the response to her comments, she decided to post an article on her blog trashing Asian Sirens. By this point, it was starting to become clear that she was using her supposed indignation at being featured on Asian Sirens as a publicity stunt. Then CEC nuked her post and the comments on it. So as there now wasn't anything for her to complain about, she removed the stuff on Asian Sirens from her blog as well. Incredibly though, that wasn't the end of the matter. More...

Asian Makeup Gurus

Michelle Phan

Until several months ago, the only Asian makeup "gurus" that I could name were two that had been featured here before; Elessa, aka Pursebuzz, who actually works in the video game industry and does hair and makeup tutorials as a sideline and Michelle Phan, aka RiceBunny, who these days, occasionally does tutorials on how to become likenesses of pop icons such as Lady Gaga, Sailor Moon, Snow White, and (one of my personal favorites) a Tim Burton movie character (above).

After mentioning these ladies' names to a professional makeup artist friend, she informed me that they are just two of the many Asian girls who have Youtube channels dedicated to hair, fashion, and makeup tutorials, and proceeded to name several more (included in this entry) right off hand. Asian Ladies of the Lingerie Football League

G-N Kang

Spawned by the Popular Super Bowl halftime feature, the Lingerie Bowl, the Lingerie Football League had its inagural season just last year. Having sexy, lingerie-clad players was probably thought to be the only way a womens football organazation could survive, but these ladies aren't mearly eye-candy in some powder puff league. In fact, some of the players even have semi-pro experience.

In the LFL, they play all-out, full-contact football for two 17-minute halves on an indoor arena-size field under arena-type rules. However, you're not here to read about all that, so anyway....browsing the rosters of the 10 teams revealed a handfull of Asian gridiron girls, most notably Korean-born G-N Kang (above), who plays center for the Philadelphia Passion. G-N's "day job" is co-host of the "Chio in the Morning" radio show on Philly's Wired 96.5 FM. More...

Asian Women and Tattoos

image

While I'd like to keep Yuko on the top of the page for longer, I had a topic I thought would be interesting to discuss and I decided to make a post on it while it is fresh on my mind. Much is often said in the comments about tattoos on Asian women. Some are for them, others are indifferent, and others are vehemently against them. So to promote further discussion, here are several questions for you to answer about tattoo designs on Asian women.

Asian Sirens on Twitter

image

Twitter is a webservice that lets you check-in with what you are doing by text message, IM or over the web. It gained traction at SXSW 2007 and I'm a passionated user since then. While doing research about Asian Sirens on Twitter, I discovered a number of models on Twitter such as Lena Li, Natasha Yi, LuanaLani, Aiko Tanaka, Akira Lane, Francine Dee, and of course Tila Tequila.

I'm wondering who is using Twitter as well and which Asian models we definitely should follow. Anyone?

Random Photos and Call to Webmasters

image

I was searching for new models and different websites to promote and I found these self taken photos from the Asian Teen Picture Club (whose name sounds too much like "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" for my liking). I realized I had a lot of fun reviewing SF Bay Models last month and wouldn't mind doing more of those. Since many of the users on this site have their own websites, I wanted to see if anyone would like their site reviewed. More on this and more photos below.
