Bai Ling

She may not have her butt-length hair any more but she's still to die for!

Bai Ling Bai Ling (October 10, 1970) was recently seen in Wild Wild West (1999) and Anna and the King (1999). What can I say more about her? She was born near the end of the Cultural Revolution in China when her parents were treated cruelly due to the fact that they taught. Her father was a music teacher and her mother was a stage actor and dancer. Soon after her birth, Bai Ling moved to Szechwan, China to live with her grandmother. She became a "soldier" in the Chinese army in Tibet at the age of 14. Her main activity there was to entertain with musical theater. She was considered a movie star in mainland China after making seven feature films and performing in many plays. Bai Ling - which means 'White Spirit' in English - describes herself as having been a very shy child who found that she best expressed herself through acting and performing. Bai Ling ended up in NY where she took classes at The Lee Strasberg Institute (1991) and New York University (1991). It was supposedly a temporary move, but she was issued a special visa to stay due to her involvement in the pro-democracy movement in Tiananmen Square, Beijing in 1989.

Besides Wild Wild West (1999) and Anna and the King (1999), she played in the following movies: Somewhere in the City (1998), Row Your Boat (1998), Red Corner (1997), Nixon (1995), Dead Weekend (1995), Dead Funny (1994), and The Crow (1994).
